In recognition of International Education Week, Nov. 15-19, Penn State Berks will host a series of events designed to build bridges across the many different cultures represented at the college.
Troi Howell, a first-year student at Penn State Berks, was recently recognized for her essay titled “Lack of Diversity in the Distribution of Wealth in America.”
In conjunction with the upcoming Penn State Wellness Day on March 11, the Penn State Berks Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee is hosting a Racial Equity and Interfaith Forum from 1-3 p.m. via Zoom.
Penn State Berks is working to enhance the cultural competency of its campus community. A college-wide program to increase cultural competency among faculty, staff and students included a recent study of student-teachers.
The Penn State Berks LaunchBox, located within the GoggleWorks Center for the Arts in downtown Reading, Pennsylvania, will hold a Meetup titled “Global Entrepreneurship: Latin American Perspectives” from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 12.

Penn State Berks honored two high school students, three college students, and a faculty and staff member during this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. awards banquet on Jan. 21.
