Penn State Berks celebrates Lunar New Year on Feb. 15 with dance performance

On Saturday, Feb. 15, Penn State Berks will hold a Lunar New Year celebration with a live performance of the traditional Asian art form of the Lion Dance by Gong Lung (Steel Dragon) Kung Fu and Lion and Dragon Dance?in the Perkins Student Center. There will also be a presentation on Asian culture, an opportunity for questions and answers, activities like face painting and light refreshments. This free event runs from 1 to 4 p.m., and is open to the public.

Penn State Berks hosts second annual Garba Night, Nov. 16

The Penn State Berks International Klub will host its second annual Diwali Garba Night on Saturday, Nov. 16, from 6:30 to 10 p.m. in the Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center. The event will include Garba dancing, music, refreshments and crafts. This event is free and open to the public but advanced registration is required. ?

Penn State Berks holds 'People, Place, and Things' exhibition

Penn State Berks will present “People, Place, and Things,” a campus-wide exhibition that showcases artists with ties to eastern Pennsylvania whose work engages ideas of place-making and regional identity. The exhibition will open Nov. 21 and run through Feb. 26. The opening reception will be held from 12:15-1:15 p.m. on Nov. 21 in the Perkins Student Center Lobby. The event is free and open to the public, and light refreshments will be served. ?

Berks hosts lecture on mass of everyday objects via particle physics perspective

Temple University Professor of Physics Andreas Metz will present “Understanding the mass of everyday objects from the perspective of particle physics” on Wednesday, March 27. A reception will begin at 4 p.m. in the college’s Freyberger Gallery and the lecture begins at 4:30 p.m. in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is free and open to the public.?
