Penn State Berks has been granted a charter from the National Spanish Honor Society Sigma Delta Pi. Established in 1919, Sigma Delta Pi recognizes college students who attain excellence in the study of the Spanish language, literature and cultures, and who are committed to understanding the Hispanic world.
Four Berks students will be inducted during the inaugural ceremony at 5 p.m. Monday, April 9, in room 105, Franco Building. The students include senior Deja Nicole Rowe, a business major; junior Theresa Nguyen, a criminal justice major; and sophomores Carmen Hernandez, communication arts and sciences; and Luis Segura, Spanish.
Alpha Alpha Psi, the Penn State Berks chapter of Sigma Delta Pi, was established in 2018. Donna Chambers, assistant teaching professor in Spanish, will serve as the chapter’s adviser. For additional information, contact Chambers at [email?protected] or 610-396-6332.
