As an extension of Penn State University’s “All In at Penn State” initiative, Penn State Berks is holding a student town hall. The event, titled, “BREATHE: Dialogues in Advocacy and Self-Care,” will be held at 12:15 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in the Perkins Student Center Auditorium. This event is only open to Penn State Berks students.
“BREATHE” will be facilitated by Charleon A. Jeffries, Coordinator of Diversity Education in the Affirmative Action Office of Penn State University. According to Sharon Pitterson-Ogaldez, Coordinator of Diversity and International Programs at Penn State Berks, this event is an opportunity for students to express their feelings about social injustice that occurs in our society and to engage in creating a more just, caring and thriving world to collectively come together for support, encouragement and rejuvenation.
“All In at Penn State” is a University-wide initiative that brings students, faculty and staff together to show their commitment to cultivating a diverse and inclusive environment. The initiative aims to foster open-minded communities and thoughtful discussions, respectful of everyone regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, age, sexual orientation, abilities, background, veteran’s status, political beliefs, and all the ways we differ.
