We believe that structural racism, heteronormativity, sexism, classism and other oppressive structures intersect to diminish life chances for some members of our community.? We aim to leverage the resources of the HASS Division to address issues of political, social and civic inequity in our community and world.? We are dedicated to research methodologies and teaching practices that can ameliorate oppression in the communities and systems in which we study, live and work.? Thus, we commit to ongoing self-reflection and assessments of our teaching, learning and research as we strive to do no harm to those that we profess to prepare, protect, and empower.?
